Why I Love Bored-LA

"To sample gourmet food, go to the Grove Thursday for a Top Chef competition. Top Chef contestants Chris "CJ" Jacobsen and Antonia Lofaso, who is also executive chef at Los Angeles restaurant Foxtail, will be in appearance for a friendly cook-off, but the best part is there will be free tastings and demos from some of the restaurants at the Grove, like The Farm of Beverly Hills, Morels French Bistro & Steakhouse, Maggiano's Little Italy, and The Whisper Lounge. It's free, but you must RSVP to (323) 769-6392 or lamagevents@yahoo.com. It starts at 7pm."

Rediscovered

"For every Dave Chappelle and Justin Timberlake that won the talent competition that launched their careers and landed them international celebrity, there is the ultra talented performer that narrowly missed their chance at stardom and were left with a life of obscurity. Until now...

Rediscovered, the new talent competition from ABC and Disney, offers an exceptionally talented group of performers a second chance at stardom. A chance for redemption.

Be in the live audience as they perform for you and a panel of celebrity judges at the Orpheum Theater and give them their second shot.

Featuring American Idol's Ricky Minor and his band performing as the house band!
Orpheum Theater
842 S. Broadway

Madness at Echo Lake

Sun. Aug. 31st, 2pm
Echo Park Lake
$8

According to Bored-LA, there will be a huge L.A. scavenger hunt tomorrow.  To compete, you must have a team of 2-5 people, wear matching uniforms, face paint, and come equipped with a team name.

For a small entry fee, your team can win $500 cash and a giant bottle of whiskey.

"The items on the scavenger hunt list will be very random, very adult-oriented, and pretty insane. Last year teams had to kiss strangers, get nail extensions, and cornrows. Yes, every one on the team. Some even had to shave words into the back of their heads. Of course you can always choose which goals you try and accomplish, but I'm sure it will be a really fun day nonetheless. Hipster insder: bring your polaroid camera to the hunt for some bonus points."
